Chinese Liberal Democrats join efforts in Chinatown, London to raise funds for victims of Haiti earthquake

On Sunday 17 January, representatives from various Chinese community grassroots organizations including Spectrum Radio congregated near the Stone Lions in the heart of Chinatown. The purpose was pure and simple, to raise funds to help in the international aid effort in Haiti following the shocking earthquake that has left hundreds of thousands of people devastated.

Claire Hoang joins Councillor Mentoring Scheme

A reception at the House of Commons saw the launch of the Operation Black Vote Mentoring scheme for black and ethnic minority female councillors. Amongst them is Claire Hoang, the only candidate of Chinese ethnicity to be selected for the shadowing scheme. There were more than a dozen aspiring BME women present who are all keen to stand as Liberal Democrat councillors.
