Action Day in the Cotswolds

March 26, 2017 4:00 PM

On 19 March, a group of Chinese Liberal Democrats travelled from London and Birmingham to Cirencester for a day of action in support of Councillor Tatyan Cheung.

We went canvassing in the village of Bibury, once described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England" and had a really successful day.

Currently a town and district councillor, Tatyan will be standing to be a County Councillor in the South Cerney division of Gloucestershire County Council in May 2017.

A long time resident in Cirencester, Tatyan is campaigning, amongst other things, to improve response time for ambulance service and access to hospitals, to improve the standards of schools and to provide better public transport for rural villages.

Cllr Tatyan CheungCllr Tatyan Cheung said:

"Since 2010 we have seen huge erosion of services provided by local councils. Our aim is to reverse this decline in services in the community, and provide better and stronger leadership at the County Council.

"I believe I have multi-cultural assets to bring to our local community, by taking a holistic and equitable approach to divisive and confrontational problems that we are facing in the current political climate. I encourage everyone to make a stand and make things better!"
