Cllr Helen Chuah standing for re-election in May
Cllr Helen Chuah reports back from Colchester Council on recent boundary changes:
"My present Ward of St Anne's will now join with St John's Ward to form one big St Anne's and St John's Ward with a total population of 15,000.
"This boundary change for Colchester will also include fewer Councillors, from 60 reduced to 51 seats.
"This is the Conservative idea of saving money, and we, the Liberal Democrats are the only Party that is fighting to oppose this increase in residents with fewer Councillors and reources."
Helen, originally from Malaysia, came to the UK to train as a mental health nurse and settled here following her marriage to Mike Hogg. She made history as the first female British Chinese Mayor in the UK in 2011!
