New Chinese Liberal Democrat Executive elected

16 Nov 2009

On the 11 November members of the Chinese Liberal Democrats elected their new executive to take them in to 2010 and beyond.

Newly elected Chair, Merlene Toh Emerson said:

"May I start by saying a big 'thank you' to everyone who came to the AGM on the 11th November especially, our new members and supporters.

Thank you also to Alex McFie and Hong Ling (who have stepped down from the executive) and to members of the new Executive Team (including Alex Paynton, Allan Siao Ming Witherick and Philip Ling). Whilst Linda and Sam had stood down as Chair and Vice Chair respectively, I am delighted that they remain on the executive committee as Vice-Chair and as Exec member.

This new CLD Executive has a lot of work going forward with both a General Election in the near future and our on going desire to both reach out more to the Chinese community, and help positively influence Liberal Democrat policies.

Our next social event will be the Chinese New Year banquet in February and I hope to see many of you there!"
