Victoria Collins's launch as PPC of SW Hertfordshire
I believe good political campaigning brings people together to stand up for and fight for something better. That's why we brought together Parish, Town, District and County Councillors with local supporters to launch our campaign and kick-start our work together. With the aim of taking on the Tories, fighting for a better politics and tackling the issues that matter.
South West Hertfordshire currently covers two distinct councils, Three Rivers and Dacorum. The Liberal Democrats currently run Three Rivers and we are the main opposition party in Dacorum.
We had a fantastic launch event for the South West Herts Parliamentary seat with Dacorum and Three Rivers District. Daisy Cooper, our Lib Dem Deputy Leader and MP for St Alban's, joined us, as did Sarah Nelmes, the leader of Three Rivers District Council and Adrian England, the Deputy Leader of the Dacorum Liberal Democrat Group. We were joined by members for the Chinese Lib Dems too and people from across Hertfordshire, the South East and even the UK.
Our success across the whole area, nationally and locally, is interlinked, and that's why working as a team is vitally important. We've had great success with Liberal Democrat Councillors in South West Herts, and many locals know the difference the Liberal Democrats can make.
Working together with our fantastic councillors, I aim to earn the trust of local people, go on to be elected the first Liberal Democrat MP of East and South East Asian origin and stand as an MP that truly cares about making a positive difference for local people.
